Case Study: Global Chemical Processing Plant

A large global chemical processing plant in South West Sydney required a complete batching, storage, mixing and pumping system for their new plant. Processing a variety of liquid chemicals including concrete, waterproofing resins and more, the company sought an all-in-one turnkey solution to control and streamline their operations.

The FluidPro team took on the challenge of creating an efficient system that could control the customer’s operations from start to finish. The unique design, tailored specifically to the client’s needs, includes:

•  A customised loading zone for raw product to be unloaded from isotainer to raw product storage tanks
• Tanks for storing raw goods and tanks for storing products after mixing
• A tank farm key station, used to send raw products to their storage tanks
• A specialised mixing area key station, featuring multiple agitators for batching and a transfer hose for pumping finished goods to finished goods tanks or IBCs
• An IBC filling key station – this also allows finished goods to be pumped directly to trucks
• A hotbox for IBC weighing and scrubber to extract and remove harmful fumes from IBCs
• A control panel allowing an operator to control the entire plant from one convenient location. This is a programmable logic controller (PLC,) with multiple Human Machine Interfaces (HMI) located within the plant for ease of operator control
• Gantries, platforms and stairs around the mixing station for easy access
• A hot water system to provide heating for the mixing station
